Phyt Cares, a non-profit dedicated to educating youth and communities in New York City and Puerto Rico and linked to Phyt Gym, will hold its annual 2020 Virtual Fundraiser on Wednesday, November 4, at 5:30 pm EST via Zoom.
The group’s events date back to 2018 and were co-founded by EisnerAmper’s Elana Margulies Snyderman in New York and Jonas Serrano, who is in Puerto Rico. Other industry backers include: EisnerAmper, Symphony Financial Partners, Land & Buildings Investment Management, Maximus Long Short Equity Management, Star Mountain Capital, Crawford Lake Capital Management, IQ-EQ, Socium Fund Services, Manhattan West Asset Management, MJE Advisors, BTIG, Maeson Group, BHZ Capital and West Emerald Capital.
Due to others generosity, the minority and women-owned non-profit has been able to provide virtual fitness (or Phytness) classes online to underserved communities across the U.S.

“Phyt Cares would like to thank so many people for their support during these unprecedented times by participating in Virtual Phytness 1-on-1 personal training and small group classes since the beginning of the pandemic and the workouts are still going strong,” said Margulies-Snyderman. “Also in a year where Diversity & Inclusion initiatives have never been more prominent, we wanted to give a special thanks to the women in financial services who have supported our cause while juggling multiple responsibilities.”
The group prior to COVID-19 had a long-standing partnership with 8th graders at Isaac Newton Middle School in East Harlem and also a partnership with the Young Adult Institute, which supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
In Puerto Rico, the group has a long-standing relationship with El Gimnasio Boxeo La Perla and formed a new collaboration with Complejo de Rehabilitación para Mujeres de Bayamón, which serves incarcerated women.
Today, Phyt Cares continues to work with these groups in accordance with guidelines from local jurisdictions in New York and Puerto Rico.
