The $25 billion firm Leucadia Asset Management entered into a strategic relationship with Hampton Road Capital Management, which was founded by veteran TMT investor John Thaler in early 2020.
As part of the deal, Leucadia said it would also invest long-term capital into Hampton Road’s fundamental long/short equity strategy, which invests in technology, media, telecom and consumer stocks globally.
Thaler founded JAT Capital in 2007, then proceeded to grow it into a $3 billion hedge fund. And prior to JAT, he was well known as a portfolio manager at $8 billion hedge . . .
