Marathon raises $900m for asset-based lending strategy

Marathon Asset Management held its final close for its latest fund, Marathon Secured Private Strategies fund, raising approximately $900 million in committed capital.

The strategy is to invest in a diversified portfolio of asset-based loans across the healthcare, real estate, equipment and transportation and corporate sectors backed by secure, contractual cash-flows, officials said.

This launch follows the blockbuster $2.5 billion close of the Marathon Distressed Credit Fund earlier this month.
