The Teachers’ Retirement System of Illinois (TRS) in Springfield committed to additional private equity and real assets investments after closing the books on a tumultuous 2020 that saw the pension hit $57.2 billion -- the largest balance in its 82-year history.
The system’s $7.5 billion private equity portfolio saw six new commitments including three new relationships for trustees.
