New Jersey-based hedge fund Crawford Lake Capital Management signed on as the anchor sponsor of a new fitness program focused on kids.
Kool Kids Passaic will provide virtual fitness classes to youth with special needs. Leading the “Virtual Phytness” classes is Phyt Cares, a non-profit arm of Phyt Gym founded by Jonas Serrano and co-founded by EisnerAmper exec Elana Margulies-Snyderman. The non-profit educates communities via fitness in New York City, Puerto Rico and the U.S. (virtually).
“Phyt Cares is honored to provide our Virtual Phytness program to Kool Kids Passaic to empower these youth to feel active and healthy and demonstrate to them that anyone can benefit from fitness, irrespective their limitations,” said Serrano, president of Phyt Cares. “We would like to thank Crawford Lake Capital Management and President Jeff Schachter for the generous sponsorship of this program.”
Schachter is also a newly appointed board member of Phyt Cares. “Providing resources to special needs youth is a cause that is near and dear to my heart and I look forward to working with Phyt Cares to launch additional Virtual Phytness classes for youth with special needs in other cities across the U.S.”
Sharon Sommer is director of Kool Kids Passaic, which offers a variety of programming for Passaic, New Jersey area youth including after-school activities.
“Kool Kids Passaic is honored to have a partnership with Phyt Cares to provide Virtual Phytness classes to youth in our community,” Sommer said. “Phyt Cares has made a difference in the lives of the participants inspiring them to be active and healthy, increasing their self-confidence and overcoming challenges they face. The boys look forward to it every week.”
