London-based perfORM Due Diligence Services has hired Emma Lawson as a senior operational due diligence consultant.
The hire helps support asset owner on-demand operational due diligence (initial and monitoring), investment manager ODD therapy and service provider ODD, officials said. The firm, founded in 2019 by Quentin Thom, former Deutsche Bank’s EU head of prime brokerage hedge fund consulting, and James Newman, Barclays Wealth global head of ODD, has experienced rapid growth and even made strides with onsite due diligence during the pandemic.
Lawson brings extensive experience in risk management, governance, controls and due diligence after working the past 14 years at London-based fund of hedge funds Aurum. She held the role of head of ODD for eight years and spent her last four years at the firm as COO. She also has a strong interest in ESG, according to perfORM.
“Emma is an exciting and timely addition to the perfORM team as we continue to respond to demand for our due diligence services,” said Co-Founder and Co-Head James Newman. “As a senior practitioner-led service with boots on the ground in London, Emma brings further firepower and expertise across our wide range of reviews, from hedge to private markets to crypto.”
Lawson in turn said that she has known both Thom and Newman for years and had been following the rapid development of perfORM with interest.
“This is a great opportunity to get involved in a broad spectrum of operational reviews, as an increasingly diverse client base seeks perfORM’s innovative ODD support,” she added.
