Houston firm EnCap Investments closed its first energy transition fund with commitments of $1.2 billion to invest in companies that are set to profit from lowering the carbon footprint in the U.S.
The EnCap Energy Transition Fund I will focus on creating wind, solar and energy storage enterprises. Traditionally, the firm has provided growth capital to the independent sector of the U.S. energy industry and has raised 22 institutional investment funds totaling $38 billion.
