Mike Sutter, the former CEO of Airtech Vacuum Inc., is joining New York-based private equity firm Blue Wolf Capital Partners as an operating partner.
He will be focused on the firm’s investments in the industrial sector and brings with him expertise in working with a manufacturer of vacuum pump, blowers and vacuum and compressor systems.
“One of Blue Wolf’s key differentiators is our team’s industry and operating expertise, and I am pleased to build on this talent with the addition of an industrial manufacturing veteran like Mike,” said Adam Blumenthal, managing partner at the $1.8 billion Blue Wolf. “Mike has a track record of success in improving operating performance and driving organic and inorganic growth, having led a variety of businesses throughout his career in the sectors in which we operate.”
Additionally, Sutter has experience in talent development and union environments, which are important to the private equity firm’s ESG principles, added Blumenthal.
Sutter has also served as president, CEO and as a director of Chromalox, which was taken private and later sold to a publicly traded company. He also held leadership roles at ITT in the Industrial Process Division.
“I’m truly excited to be joining Blu Wolf as an Operating Partner and am eager to collaborate with Blue Wolf’s investment team and portfolio company management as the firm continues to grow its presence in the industrials sector,” added Sutter.
The firm, founded in 2005, focuses on middle market companies in North America.
Sutter is known for his ability to foster operational and organizational excellence, and his skillset is well-aligned with our investment approach, said Aakash Patel, a principal at Blue Wolf, who concentrates on the firm’s investments in the industrials sector.
