Texas pension adds another $550 million to real estate, PE funds

The $177 billion Texas Teachers’ Retirement System tapped four managers, including one new firm, across its latest private markets allocations.

Brookfield Asset Management was tapped to manage $300 million in an opportunistic, U.S.-focused real estate strategy last month. The allocation was to the Brookfield Strategic Real Estate Partners IV-B.

Within the private equity portfolio TPG was selected for two funds for mandates of $100 million each. Large buyout strategy TPG Growth V was added, as was TPG Tech Adjacencies II for its venture/growth equity-oriented focus.
