Austin-based healthcare and life science-focused venture capital firm Santé Ventures raised $260 million in its latest fund.
Investors included Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System and new institutional investors in Asia and Latin America, firm officials said. Returning investors accounted for 90% of the capital raised.
The oversubscribed Fund IV will make strategic investments across early stage biotech, healthtech, and medtech companies. Following the fund close, the portfolio will be built out with 15 to 25 investments in innovative companies with the potential to deliver better health outcomes at a lower cost.
