The $39 billion South Carolina Retirement System allocated more than $700 million across the alternative investment spectrum, according to recent board meeting documents.
Private equity, real estate and private debt were represented in allocations made over the course of June, July and August. An additional $125 million in capital went to a separate batch of alternative investments earlier this year as well, according to June 2021 trustee meeting minutes.
