After more than two decades leading the investment program at Utah Retirement Systems, Bruce Cundick is retiring and former Oregon State Treasury CIO John Skjervem is replacing him on November 8.
The Utah Retirement System pension fund grew from $13 billion to $43 billion over his tenure. With an annual average return of 7.8%, officials said that the pension outperformed more than 90% of similarly sized public pension plans according to investment consulting firm Callan and Associates.
