Houston pension allocates $25m to cryptocurrency

The Houston Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund has purchased Bitcoin and Ether, reportedly worth $25 million.

According to NYDIG, the company facilitating the transaction, this marks the first investment in digital assets by a U.S. public pension plan. The Fairfax County Police Officers’ Retirement System will likely allocate to their first liquid crypto manager soon after making niche venture capital investments in the space.
