The Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS) of Kentucky closed 2021 with $111 million in new commitments to the alternative investment class.
The approximately $28 billion public retirement fund made new commitments to incumbent private equity manager Fort Washington Advisors in November, confirmed Beau Barnes, deputy executive secretary and general counsel.
The commitments followed a $203 million private equity allocation made by TRS last August.
The system’s assets are managed in three discrete funds — its $26 billion Retirement Annuity Trust; a $2.3 billion Health Insurance Trust; and its $107 million Life Insurance Trust . . .
