James Barber is joining the C$150 billion ($117 billion) Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo) as co-chief investment officer and head of private investments. He will work alongside Sandra Lau who as co-CIO will lead public investments.
The pair replace Dale MacMaster, who announced his retirement from AIMCo last October having served more than two decades with Edmonton-based AIMCo -- the last seven of which were as CIO.
The transition is effective on March 1.
