Pantheon named Amyn Hassanally as partner and new global head of Private Equity Secondaries as it expands its secondaries strategy with a newly created role.
Previously, Hassanally spent almost 17 years at Coller Capital in both New York and London, where he was an investment partner and former global co-head of investment execution. The appointment comes as Pantheon expanded its secondaries strategy with the closing of its first program dedicated to GP solutions — the Pantheon Secondary Opportunities Fund — that raised $624 million in October 2021.
Currently, Pantheon has $8.2 billion in assets under management and advice in PE secondaries.
The new hire brings more than two decades of experience especially with LP and GP-led transactions and served on Coller’s investment committee. Prior to Coller, he practiced corporate law focusing on private equity transactions and fund structuring.
At Pantheon, he will lead an established team of 22 private equity secondaries specialists, including seven partners. Based in the firm’s New York office, he will report to Jeff Miller, global head of private equity.
Hassanally will also be a member of Pantheon’s Secondaries Investment Committee. The committee is supported by a wider team of 31 private equity investment colleagues and 27 investment structuring professionals, who provide additional expertise to help source, structure and complete these complex transactions.
