Alan Isenberg, former head of product strategy and marketing at Neuberger Berman, has joined Angelo Gordon as global head of the client partnership group.
Reporting to Josh Baumgarten, co-CEO of Angelo Gordon, he succeeds former global head of investor relations Garrett Walls, who will remain a senior advisor to the firm until his planned retirement at year-end. In this role, Isenberg is responsible for leading the $51 billion firm’s worldwide client and product functions, including new business development, client coverage, product development and management and client service.
“Alan is a seasoned client and product leader with deep, substantive relationships across the industry,” said Baumgarten. “He brings a rare blend of product strategy, global investor engagement, and talent management experience to this important role. We look forward to Alan’s contributions as we continue to execute on the firm’s strategic initiatives, deliver a thoughtful and focused client experience, and maximize value for our investors.”
Joining Neuberger Berman in 2018, Isenberg served on the firm’s operating committee and was a senior sponsor of NB Pride, the firm’s LBGTQ+ affinity group. Prior to NB, he was with PIMCO, where he was executive vice president, head of strategy and business management for its Asia Pacific Business. He also served as an account manager for PIMCO’s U.S. institutional business, where he focused on public pension clients.
“Few firms offer Angelo Gordon’s unique combination of strengths: outstanding investment-focused leadership that drives performance and client responsiveness, a private ownership structure that supports long-term alignment, and a culture that encourages collaboration and rigor,” said Isenberg.
Isenberg’s appointment follows several recent additions to Angelo Gordon’s senior team, including Head of ESG Allison Binns and Chief Strategy Officer Scott Soussa.
