CPP Investments in Toronto unveiled its new growth equity group, which seeks to invest in opportunities where growth is hidden in companies that have been doing business for years.
The C$539 billion ($423 billion) pension fund views growth equity as occupying a lucrative space between venture capital and buyouts and the investment strategy takes minority stakes in businesses that are poised for transformational growth and providing them with funds and support to make the growth possible, officials explained in a detailed announcement.
