Fernando Vinzons has been named chief investment officer at the Chicago Teachers’ Pension Fund, effective July 11.
He joins the $13.1 billion retirement system after spending 14 years at the Cook County Pension Fund, the last four of which he was director of investments. Vinzons was responsible for the growth of an under-funded pension portfolio from $5.2 billion to $14 billion. Officials at the county system are currently seeking his replacement.
