A long-beleaguered portion of the hedge fund industry has gotten a boost in 2022: CTAs. And yes, even investors are extolling commodities as a growing segment of their own portfolios, thanks to ongoing inflation.
A good number of commodities funds remain up double-digits for the year, which showcases the strategy’s low historical correlation to stock markets. But add in rising inflation, and the investor optimism seems reasonable.
