Three private equity giants -- Advent International, Clearlake and Andreesen Horowitz -- raised nearly $45 billion combined across three funds, according to AW Research data collected for the month ending May 31.
The $74 billion in fundraising activity tracked by AW was dominated mostly by private equity, which saw $51 billion in inflows overall.
