Almost a year after losing its chief investment officer, the $1.2 billion endowment of Brandeis University in Massachusetts has named Tarek Saghir as CIO.

Having joined the university’s office of investment management in 2021 as director of investments, Saghir had previously served as a principal at buyout/growth equity/venture capital firm GroveStreet. Prior to that he was at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in a public market investment role.
Saghir had been named interim CIO when Nicholas Warren left to join Philadelphia-based Glenmede as CIO in March 2022. Warren had spent more than a decade at Brandeis.
