Oaktree Capital Group appointed retired Minnesota State Board of Investment CIO Mansco Perry to its board of directors this month.
Perry, with almost three decades at the Minnesota State Board of Investment office, brings a unique perspective to the board.
“My colleagues and I have had the pleasure of working with Mansco in his various positions of responsibility over many years, said Oaktree Co-Chairman Howard Marks. “No one knows more than Mansco about managing investment portfolios or pension funds. Our familiarity with each other will allow Mansco to make an immediate contribution to Oaktree. We look forward to benefiting from his vast experience and unique insight.”
Perry retired in 2022 and Jill Schurtz was selected to serve as his successor at Minnesota State Board of Investment, which oversees more than $120 billion in state pension and other funds.
Prior to joining the Minnesota system, Perry had been the chief investment officer of Macalester College and the chief investment officer of the Maryland State Retirement Agency.
“I feel deeply honored to have been offered this opportunity. It has been my pleasure and good fortune to have worked with Oaktree during much of my career. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to assist the organization in any manner that I can,” said Perry.
