Paul Singer’s Elliott Management has joined the bidding process for Manchester United, with a funding proposal that could see its current owners maintain control of the English soccer club.
The high-profile U.S. activist hedge fund’s London office lodged its plan to the Raine Group -- the New York-headquartered boutique investment bank which is running the sale of Manchester United on behalf of the Florida-based Glazer family -- late on Friday, joining two other rival bids on the table.
