GAM announced that Chris Longworth has been appointed Head of GAM Systematic, while Danny Dhingra will join the Systematic Core Macro team in the London office.
Guglielmo Mazzola, head of Systematic Investments Specialists, will now also report directly to Longworth as part the systematic team, officials announced.
“I’m very pleased to welcome Danny Dhingra to the team,” said Longworth. “I have known Danny for many years, and he brings a wealth of systematic investment experience and will be an invaluable contributor to our research efforts on GAM Systematic Core Macro, as well as continuing to lead on GAM Systematic Commodities. I am also delighted that Guglielmo will now report directly to me to enable even closer collaboration as we work to develop solutions for our clients. These changes represent a significant strengthening of our systematic team.”
Longworth originally joined GAM in 2010. Dhingra, who joined GAM in 2016 will take on an investment manager role while reporting into Longworth.
The GAM Systematic team is made up of dedicated scientists who constantly research and test new models and approaches in support of Core Macro — a diversified, multi-strategy, multi-asset portfolio.
The team traces its roots back to UK-based Cantab Capital Partners, which GAM acquired in 2016. Cantab had $4 billion in AUM at the time and by the end of 2021, GAM Systematic’s assets had dipped to $1.9 billion according to regulatory documents.
