Marco Sedlmayr has joined alternative investment firm Hayfin Capital Management to head up DACH with a focus on the firm’s Partner Solutions team based in Munich.
According to officials, Sedlmayr will work closely with the investment team to help the firm — which offers private debt, liquid credit and private equity — maintain its high standards of client coverage with an aim of delivering tailored investment solutions within the German-speaking region.
He joins from Golding Capital Partners, where he spent five years as managing director and head of institutional clients in German and Austria. Prior to that he was a practice leader in the DACH region within Allianz Global Investors’ Insurance Business Development EMEA Group.
“Last year we grew our AUM to over €29 billion ($31 billion), with our flagship private debt strategies accounting for two thirds of that,” said Alexander Wolfman, global head of partner solutions at Hayfin. “The DACH region has been an important part of Hayfin’s growth story and Marco’s appointment will help us maintain our high standards of client coverage as we continue to grow the business within the region. Sedlmayr added that the Munich presence represents a clear commitment to the German-speaking market for the London-headquartered firm. He expects that he will help strengthen existing client relationships while growing the business further in the region.
Hayfin already has offices in Frankfurt and additionally in Madrid, Milan, New York, Paris, La Jolla (Calif.), Luxembourg, Singapore and Tel Aviv.
