National multifamily investment platform S2 Capital (S2) welcomed Connor Austin as vice president of capital formation and investor relations.
Launched in 2012, S2 targets value-add, opportunistic and distressed investments through affiliated businesses, with closely aligned divisions including acquisitions, construction and asset management. The Dallas-based firm’s investments so far have been centered in Arizona, Florida, Texas and other states in the Sunbelt region.
Austin will lead S2’s new Los Angeles office, with an eye to establishing investor relationships with institutions and wealth management firms in the Western U.S. He joins from iCapital Network, where he specialized in alternative investment sales, including real estate, over the previous four years, raising substantial assets from private wealth investors in Western states. Prior to that he held various sales positions at social and media intelligence services provider Meltwater Group.
Austin’s “track record of raising capital and talent for building relationships with wealth management firms will help us strategically scale for new opportunities and expand our investor base, particularly in the Western U.S.,” said Patrick Connell, head of capital formation and investor relations at S2.
The new hire comes a week after S2 added Mark Halford as vice president, special situations.
