New York law firm Schulte Roth & Zabel (SRZ) hired Damian Petrovic as a partner in the M&A and Securities Group.
Petrovic represents private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies with respect to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. According to SRZ, he has been involved in transactional work for leading private equity funds, including private acquisitions, co-investments, portfolio company add-ons, preferred equity investments, SPAC transactions, take-privates and carve-outs.
Previously, Petrovic was at Weil, Gotshal & Manges for over seven years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“Damian’s sophisticated and broad-based skill set will deepen our capabilities as we continue to expand our already significant middle market private equity practice,” said Brian Miner, co-chair of the firm’s M&A and Securities Group.
Petrovic’s move to Schulte continues the firm’s growth of its M&A and Securities Group, which welcomed David Curtiss, who focuses on capital markets transactions, regularly representing clients in equity and debt offerings, in September.
“Damian is an excellent addition to the firm. His relationships in the industry combined with his diverse experience and entrepreneurial mindset make him an ideal complement to our private capital client base and growing team,” said David Efron, co-managing partner at SRZ.
Other new partner arrivals in 2023 include Julia Beskin (Litigation), Michael Didiuk (Investment Management Regulatory & Compliance), Christopher Gerson (Litigation), Timothy Gilman (Litigation), John Nowak (Litigation) and Dan Roman (Tax).
“I am delighted to join Schulte,” said Petrovic. “I was drawn to the firm by its reputation as a leader in the private capital space, the pedigree of its client base and its focused culture of collaboration.”
