Macquarie Asset Management hired Alliance Bernstein’s Vivek Bommi as head of leveraged credit.
Bommi will oversee the firm’s leveraged credit capabilities as part of a broader credit platform that includes fixed income and private credit portfolios at Macquarie Asset Management, which manages approximately $5 billion in leveraged credit assets across high yield and bank loans with clients across U.S. wealth and institutional channels and over $220 billion across the overall credit platform.
Bommi has 25 years of experience, most recently as head of European and U.K. Fixed Income at Alliance Bernstein in London, where he oversaw €16 billion ($17.5 billion) in assets across a range of fixed income products. Prior to that he was at Neuberger Berman, where he successfully launched and grew several fixed income strategies including the first post-crisis European CLO.
“We see investors continue to look for credit solutions across the liquidity, risk and return spectrums,” said Brett Lewthwaite, deputy head of credit at Macquarie Asset Management. “Vivek’s wealth of experience will be invaluable as we look to grow our existing leveraged credit solutions and add new offerings.”
