Questa will serve alongside Eli Appelbaum as partner and co-head of Europe for alternative credit. He brings more than two decades of experience, most recently as partner and portfolio manager for private credit at Hayfin Capital Management, where he invested across special situation strategies and was responsible for the firm’s asset investing activities. Prior to Hayfin, he was a managing director at Sixth Street Partners, where he was responsible for real estate and asset-backed special situations in Europe.
Ares Alternative Credit strategy totals $32 billion and is one of the largest firms within asset-based credit. The team seeks to provide scaled solutions tailored to owners of large, diversified portfolios of assets that seek to generate resilient, contractual cash flows across market cycles.
Questa’s addition follows the Oct. 2023 hiring of Will Farrant and Ruby Lau to lead Ares’ Alternative Credit teams efforts in Australia and New Zealand.
“The strength and breadth of the Ares platform, combined with the significant amount of dry powder across the Alternative Credit strategies, ideally positions us to be the partner of choice for asset focused transactions,” Questa said in a statement. “I look forward to partnering with banks, companies and sponsors to provide tailored capital solutions in today’s complex market environment.”
